Roy Xing

Hello! I'm a PhD student in computer science at Dartmouth College. My research is currently advised by Dr. Brian Plancher in the A²R Lab. I am grateful to have worked with Dr. John Baillieul and Dr. Jonathan Hurst in the past.

I am interested in creating the equivalent of a motor cortex for our robotic systems! How should high-level reasoning interact with and become physical movement for embodied intelligence? I love movement and the beautiful expressions that can emerge from motion. My ultimate goal is to create a kind robot, like BMO in Figure 1. In my free time, I'm an art history dilettante who enjoys reading, building robots, and spending as much quality time as I can with loved ones. Feel free to reach out if you want to chat!
